All of us carry with us our own unique blueprint of numbers through our birthday and through our name. Understanding our numerical essence through our personal number vibrations helps us to know what natural gifts and talents we possess and the challenges and lessons that we will face in order to develop these frequencies within our lives.

Our name numbers and birthday number give insight into different areas of our life. Here is what we can learn about ourselves through the different combinations of our number frequencies:

Life path number

Birthday number. Challenges to overcome and strengths and talents that we step into through these challenges. Highest potential to live up to. What we aspire to become. How we will continually evolve in this lifetime.

Personality number

The consonants of our name. Our mind. Our outer self. The face we show to the world. The impression we make and how people perceive us. The mask we wear.

Your Soul number

The Vowels of our name. Desires. Our Heart. Our inner self. Our true motivation in life. Our values. Our Wisdom. What makes us happy. What influences us in making decisions and choices.

Your Expression number

Overall Name Number. Natural talents and abilities. Our example to the world and what we teach to the world. Who we truly are. Potential we try to live up to everyday. Goals we aspire to. Often relates to our career. Sometimes referred to as our Destiny number.

Something to note here is that there are different ways that you can play with these numbers. Traditional numerology works with the final numbers of each of these calculations.  However, looking at the numbers that get you to those final calculations can be important to.  For instance, if your birthday is 02/02 2015 you would want to pay attention to how there is many 2’s throughout even though the core number will result in 3.  In your name numbers, you may also want to look at your individual names as well as all your names added together.  For example, what is the core number of just your first name?  And how then does that contribute to the overall name vibration of your total name?  This is just a way of exploring potential patterns that then might help you to understand more about your own personal combination of numbers that create your core numbers.

How to calculate your Personal Numbers:

To find out your Life Path number, simply add together the digits of your birthday:

Example: 21/08/1982 = 2+1+0+8+1+9+8+2 = 31*

Now reduce the last number down to a single digit by adding together the numbers

Example: 31 = 3 + 1 = 4

*It is important to note that different systems will add the digits differently, though all methods will come to the same core number.

All numbers are reduced down to a single digit so that we can look at the core number. In an advance study of numerology, we can also look at the larger number to understand more specific attributes that contribute to the core number. For example, with 31/4 we can look at the 31, 3 and 1 as well as the final core number of 4. With this we can also explore the significance of the 3 coming first and the 1 being second. However, at first, it is easiest to start by just looking at our core number.

If we encounter a Master Number, then we do not reduce it to a core number because it has special significance. Though its core number will also contain important information.  This is applicable in the name numbers as well.

To find our name numbers we must first convert our name into numbers. Traditionally we work with our name at birth. However, name changes and nicknames can be considered as well.

Please note that the following information is for the English alphabet. If you are born to another language, it would be best for you to use that alphabet. You can search online for the numerology of your alphabet or simply write it out yourself by attributing a number to each letter in the order of its sequence. This is important as well to understand that if you work through English websites to calculate your numbers, you will get different results then what you would see through working with your own languages alphabet. When you calculate your numbers, you can then look up their universal meanings in whatever language.

A - 1        J - 10/1       S - 19/1

B - 2       K - 11/2*    T - 20/2

C - 3       L - 12/3      U - 21/3

D - 4      M - 13/4      V - 22/4*

E - 5       N - 14/5     W - 23/5

F - 6       O - 15/6      X - 24/6

G - 7       P - 16/7      Y - 25/7

H - 8      Q - 17/8      Z - 26/8

I - 9        R - 18/9

*Remember to keep master numbers as is, though whether using the master number or the core, the final result of the name number will still be the same.

Our name numbers are calculated through first adding the consonants together, then the vowels and then putting those 2 numbers together.

Example: Jane Alison Smith

Jane - consonants = j - 10/1 + n - 14/5 = 25/7

          - vowels = a - 1 + e - 5 = 6

          - total = 25/7 + 6 = 31/4

Alison - consonants = l-12/3 + s -19/1 + n -14/5 = 45/9

            - vowels = a -1 + i -9 + o -15/6 = 25/7

            - total = 45/9 + 25/7 = 70/7

Smith - consonants = s - 19/1 + m - 13/4 + t - 20/2 + h - 8 = 60/6

           - vowels = I - 9 = 9

           - total = 69/15/6

The Personality number = adding the consonants together in all names = 7 + 9 + 6 = 22

The Soul number = adding together the vowels in all names = 6 + 7 + 9 = 22

The Expression number = adding together the total numbers of the personality and soul numbers = 31/4 + 70/7 + 69/15/6 = 170/8
