10 of Swords - Tarot

The 10 of Swords indicates a significant death of consciousness. There is no going back. As we have worked towards integrating a new truth into our perceptions and awareness, the old truth inevitably must die. When we reach the 10 of Swords, the death is now imminent.

We are encouraged to embrace this death. It comes now because we are ready to let go completely of all the things that have tied us to the old consciousness that now becomes obsolete. However, with the finality of this energy, we might be faced with some dramatic endings that may seem harsh and sudden. These endings are simply the result of the cause and effect of integrating our new truth and we inevitably would have come to this point of ending one way or another.

The 10 of Swords does reassure us that although this ending is difficult and brutal, we will find peace and relief on the other side. With this ending, so much old energy of toxic thoughts, beliefs and practices are now left behind. So too do we move on from the people, places and things that attached us to these toxic energies.

When the energy of the 10 of Swords comes up for us, we are being asked to look ahead, not back. With this evolution of consciousness, we now move forward to create a future that is reflective of our new truth. As mentioned before, there is no going back. When a new truth is integrated, it is impossible to participate in the old. A new dawn now breaks, and we begin a new journey once again.
