The Chariot - Tarot

The Chariot is the card of Success! When it comes up congratulations are in order because we have made it! However, we don’t want to only focus on the achievement of the goal, we want to also remember the journey that got us here. The Chariot reminds us it’s not the end result that matters, but who we become along the way that makes all the difference.

Often when we begin to work towards a goal we have a very narrow perspective of what we’ve got to do to get there. We think it's going to be a straight line from point A to point B. We are often not prepared for all the twists, turns, detours and challenges we must face along the way. Nor do we realize how many times we will fall down and have to pick ourselves back. We have no ideas what it will take from ourselves to continue and what we will have to do to convince ourselves to keep charging forward when all hope seems lost. The Chariot says don’t worry; it will be worth it. However, it will take great strength and endurance to get there.

On the other side of this we can often look back and see all that we learned from this journey through these experiences. This is why it was important for us to earn this victory and to not just have it handed to us. It is only through all of these challenges and mistakes that we truly learn what we are capable of and can also discover the strength within us that we never knew that we had. This is what prepares us for our goal in a way that could only be achieved through the authentic experiences that shaped us through the journey. We might even say that the harder the journey, the greater the rewards. The Chariot reminds us to be patient and persevering and to keep going even when we want to give up because they only way we will fail is if we do.

The Chariot also represents our will power, and we are reminded that when we align our will with that of the Divine, we will be protected in all that we set out to do. We will be victorious! To align in this way, we must work with both our free will and divine guidance. The Chariot asks us to set our intentions, to work towards our goals and to also trust the guidance that gets us there. We are not the only ones driving this vehicle. Surrendering to the direction of the divine will ensure that we get where we want to go safely and with the experiences needed to be able to handle our goal. We think we know best, and have it all figured out, but sometimes we need to hand the wheel over to the divine and trust that it can see and understand more than we ever could. Finding a balance between these 2 energies is key to really achieving what we want.

This also brings up a reminder to find a balance in all things. We must be willing to work hard, but also rest. We must be ambitious and focused, yet also surrender and flow. We must learn how to navigate these different energies and allow ourselves to be guided to the correct energy that is relative to each moment. When we connect ourselves to cosmic guidance, we will find that we can navigate these energies easily enough. However, when we work against this guidance or ignore it, we will find the pace is slow going and difficult.

On a deeper level, we can look at what the chariot represents as a symbol in itself. The Chariot is a vehicle. This can translate to our vibrational energy, and it is this energy that surrounds us as we charge forward to create our destiny. It is our Merkaba - our light, body and spirit - and the union of both heaven and earth within us. Our level of vibration energy determines how we move throughout space and time and can transport us to different levels of consciousness and dimensions as we shift into different frequencies. It is our vibration that determines which roads we travel and what experiences we encounter through the level of consciousness and frequency we are attuned to. This is all just to say that our journey is determined through our energy, and it is up to us to harness this energy and direct it through our will power to create what we want. We must be mindful that what we create will be a direct result of our energetic output. And all the things we encounter along our journey will be what resonate with our vibrational frequency. The results being reflective of what we are, not always what we want unless we can fully attune ourselves to the frequency of what we desire. This reminds us that our success really is the result our will power and determination. If we can believe it and be it, we will achieve it.
