The Empress - Tarot

The Empress heralds a time of creativity and abundance. She is the all giving mother who nurtures us and cares for us so that we can grow into our greatest potentials. She reminds us of the creative powers that are present within us and encourages us to utilize this energy to create beauty and abundance in the world around us.

The Empress is the essence of creative expression that we all possess in our own unique way. When The Empress comes up, we are asked to explore our creative potential with Joy and Pleasure. Remembering it's not about the product of what we create, it’s about the pleasure of creating for the sake of creating that really matters. We are asked through her to sing because we like singing. Dance because we like dancing. Not because we are the best or most productive, but because it brings us Joy to do so. This is how we truly create beauty in the world, and the more we sing and dance, the more abundant the world becomes with this beauty that is enjoyed by all.

A lesson that The Empress brings up is to teach us to not get caught up in comparing or competing. This is an unhealthy expression of feminine creative power. Instead, we are encouraged to celebrate all unique creative talents and contributions to this world that offer a vast and varied landscape of expression for us all to enjoy. This helps us to remember that there is room for all creation and each expression though unique is equal to the whole. Look at the beauty of flowers. Every type is beautiful in its own way, and we do not compare one to the other, but instead celebrate a world that can create such a variety of beauty that forever inspires wonder and joy within our hearts. If the world only produced 1 kind of flower, we would find it dull and boring. This is why we are encouraged through the Empress to bring our own unique expression of beauty into this world and to celebrate all forms of beauty equally.

The Empress reminds as well that the more we create, the more we grow and the more we then harvest. Abundance is generated through our continual creative expression. Nothing is ever lost when we make the effort to create, and there is always something to be gained. When the Empress comes up, we are encouraged to create with all the love of our heart and to share this beauty with the world around us. Do not worry if it will last only a moment, a season or a lifetime. Every expression of beauty, love, joy and pleasure makes the world a better place and creates something that otherwise would be lacking if we did not make the effort to bring this creative expression into manifestation.

There is so much beauty in this world and within us, and the Empress is our reminder to enjoy it and not take it for granted. Life is meant to be enjoyed in all its beauty and pleasure. Be grateful for all that we already have and contribute to creating more whenever you can. Celebrate the beauty and abundance that is all around and share in this joy with friends and family.
